This weekend m wife and I took my daughter to the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. She loved it, looking at all of the airplanes and actually being able to get in to a couple old Southwest Airlines planes. My wife and I enjoyed looking at some of the old retro flight attendant uniforms and pictures. Flying use to be quite a different experience than it is now. What's shocking, and some of you reading this might even remember when it was acceptable to smoke on an airplane. By today's standards that would be shocking right? And why is that? For the obvious reason that we all know that smoking causes cancer! So it wouldn't be right to expose innocent people to constant circulated second hand smoke. And it is probably dangerous, being that it is an open flame. But this second hand smoke reason is another reason why the in the majority of restaurants you can not light up. Side note: I have always wondered what kind of philosophical conclusion a person has to come to to first decide that they want to expose themselves to this but the, that wasn't enough, I now have to expose this to kids and other non smokers inside. Now I have really gotten off track..... But why did it use to be acceptable to smoke in planes, restaurants (take a short drive out of Dallas and you'll run in to towns that still allow this), and even hospitals? Why was it common place to see an ad with a doctor in a white coat telling you which cigarettes he preferred? Or a certain brand even telling you that they healed asthma? Another side note: DD Palmer the founder of Chiropractic said in 1896, way ahead of his time, that cigarettes poisoned the nervous system. This was all acceptable because big tobacco companies lied to the public for over 50 years about their research, which clearly showed cigarettes caused cancer. The food and pharmaceutical industries have been guilty of similar crimes against humanity as well. Big business has a history of valuing profits over lives. They manipulate science, falsify studies, buy politicians, own the mainstream media, and control the FDA. Now you are going to tell me that you trust a corporation that tells you there's no risk in vaccines or medication? PLEASE.
