![]() When I walk in to an adjusting room to see a patients usually I can feel or read the mood someone is in. I dont know what it is, the longer i have been in practice i can sense tension or stress almost immediately. And today I had a patient that I knew something was wrong, I asked her how she was, she told me a bit of what was going on. We also had some re exam xrays to go over after her adjustment and rehab, and that's when she opened up more. Her problem was with a person who is making her very angry and upset. I told her it's really funny or ironic because I had just read a story earlier today that I think relates to her situation. Im paraphrasing but it went something like this.... Say you went and bought a gift for someone, but when you went to give it to them they refused to receive it. Who is the owner of the gift now? You are, of course, because you are the one who bought it. It is very similar to anger. If someone who is hateful, angry, or upset is trying to give that to you... But you refuse to receive it.... Who is the proud owner of all that anger now? Deep breath in, let it go. You and only you control your mood and attitude.
