Ever since the news yesterday of the first case of Ebola hitting the US, Dallas in fact, I have been getting quite a few questions about it. Now, I am not an infectious disease expert by any means, but I thought I might ease some worry and fear of the situation. The first thing you have to realize is this is completely out of your control at this point. So don't lose sleep over it, if you have no control over it. Second, the CDC says they are confident that they have it contained and do not expect an outbreak. Most people are unaware that it is not an airborne illness as well, only transferred through bodily fluids. They also say that the reaction a patient has to the disease has a lot to do with the state of their immune system. Now, this is one thing you can control. Reduce your sugar intake, get your adjustments in, exercise, get your ZZZ's, add in vitamin C, zinc, and probiotics. We carry a great immune system support from Designs for Health that covers a lot of the basics. There is also an essential oil that we carry called "thieves" and it is a formula that was used by thieves during the plague that managed not to get sick while robbing the dead bodies, morbid I know but it is October. Supporting your immune system is the only thing you can do at this point, and taking simple precautions like washing your hands regularly. This is all good advice as the weather is changing and the so called "flu season" is here as well.
On a side note I am very interested to see how the business side of Ebola plays out. With all the fear and hysteria centered around it, it seems like a prime opportunity for some drug companies to make some money. Ebola vaccine anyone?
