Foods containing high amounts of refined carbohydrates and omega-6 fatty acids are considered significant factors in the development and severity of chronic pain according to a recent study. Modern corn based foods have very high ratios of pro inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids compared to anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids. This leads to increased prostaglandin synthesis and increased sensitization of C-fibres and neurogenic inflammatory pain. Foods that can help reduce neurogenic inflammatory mediated pain: -Berries -Vegetables -Citrus Fruits -Nuts -Curcumin -Ginger -Soy Beans -Green Tea Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, selenium, magnesium, zinc, curcumin, and flavonoids can all significantly help the pain reducing effects of other therapy treatments for chronic pain.
