Last night I did something I haven't done in a long time. I went to a concert with my wife! Once you have kids moments like this become more and more rare. Especially when your entire family is halfway across the country, which makes it hard for babysitting. We saw Sam Smith at Verizon Theater, which in my opinion is one of the best venues to see a concert in the Dallas Fort Worth area. It is smaller, more intimate, and I think the acoustics are a lot better than most larger stadiums. Also in my opinion, Sam Smith has one of the best voices in music today, which was perfect for a smaller venue. The concert was great, Sam Smith was one of the best live singers I have ever seen. But what I love about concerts is the energy. It is so raw, you can feel it, it is electrifying, and extremely contagious. You have teenage girls screaming their heads off, people dancing that you wouldn't picture dancing that way, people from different walks of life all coming together for one reason. To have fun and appreciate the performer's talent. Which I have to note that Sam is a singer not a performer, which seems to be a lost art these days in pop music. But I don't think it is possible to sit at a concert like last night in a bad mood. There is too much energy flowing, you can't help but feed off of it. What if everyday was like that? What if YOU brought the energy everywhere you went? To your office, your home, everywhere people fed off your energy and you brought the level up a notch. Be that person, we need more of them.
