I have never tried to hide the fact in my practice that I am NOT a Dallas Cowboys fan. Which can get some eye rolls since my practice is in Dallas and I would guess that 95% of my patient base is. So today's blog is little more light hearted and me breaking the bad news to Cowboy's fans that you are not going to be any good any time soon. Ouch, did that hurt? For those of you thinking, we are already good or we had a really good year. GET REAL. You won one playoff game. My first reason why you are not going to be any good is because Jerry Jones is going to mishandle free agency this off season. That shouldn't be a shocker. But when you can't afford to keep the league's leading rusher, Murray, and one of the best receivers, Bryant, there are going to be difficult decisions to make. I think they should let Murray go, and go after Adrian Peterson. He's older, but running backs only last a few years in the NFL anyway and you can probably get Peterson on the cheap right now. But we will see what Jerry does. One good note, and kind of some insider information I have. I was getting my haircut last week next to Bruce Carter, we go to the same barbershop, and he seemed pretty confident he will resign with the Cowboys. But for the number one reason why the Cowboys won't be any good: Tony Romo's Back. He is one hit away from being done and there is no back up plan. I don't think he will make it through the full season next year, and I know something about backs. Here is an interview I recently did on The Sports Plus Show on Fox Sports Southwest on the topic.

I have always enjoyed breaking down words and discovering their meaning. Whether the word was formed intentionally that way or even just a play on words. I have joked for a long time in my corporate wellness talks that the first three letters in the word DIET tells you what I think of them. Now I know when the word diet was formed that is not what they were going for, but other words like Health when broken down have true meaning with the root of HEAL. Health is the ability to heal.
A few months ago a patient turned me on to the Amazon app Audible. It is an app that allows you to download books on audio, which is very convenient for car rides or while doing something else. I have been able to go through quite a few books with this app, and I have actually been rereading or listening to books I have already read. One is Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. So this is me preframing that these next thoughts are not original to me. Which to be honest most motivational speakers do not "come up" with original thoughts. That is because typically, if they are any good, they are just reiterating principles. Principles that were around before them and will be around after them. Most speakers will also credit the individual who led them to discover these principles, like Tony Robbins does Jim Rohn. But on my car ride today Covey was doing a play on words and was talking about Rationalization. This is actually a topic I have blogged about before. I have used it in the sense on why people are unmotivated to get healthy or change. It is how they sleep at night, how they live with themselves. Covey calls it to "Rational Lies". And this is right on. Rationalization is typically lies we tell ourselves to live with the present circumstances. And typically those rationalizations put someone or something else at fault. Meaning you're not in this situation because of your own doing, it's the genes I got from my dad, or if only my spouse was more supportive. Sound familiar? Covey then goes on to say that the only way you will improve is to stop rationalizing and take Responsibility. He calls it "ResponsABLE". Meaning only YOU are able to change your trajectory, and you are the one responsible for the current one. But the greatest thing is that you have the power, you just need to use it. When you argue with Dr. Sanjay Gupta from CNN on Twitter you can make some people angry. I learned this last week. I never knew a TV doctor had so many groupies. I had people coming out of the wood work tweeting me very pissed off that I would come after their dear Sanjay. I actually really like Sanjay, always have, even though all he has talked about for probably the last year is Marijuana. But where Sanjay and I disagree is on the topic of vaccines. Now I don't fault him, he is not the first doctor who thinks they can play God and create a vaccine for everything under the sun to protect our kids. But I do fault him for ignoring the fact that by doing this, 70 doses of 16 vaccines before age 16, it can come with some side effects. I fault him for ignoring the real families and victims who have been injured by a vaccine. And on this day he was more arrogant than the usual Sanjay, laughing at possible risks, saying that people who question the safety of vaccines are on the "wrong side", and even saying that there are no chance of risks, the CNN anchor actually called him on that and he back tracked and explained how the risks are so small. He of course went through how the MMR and Autism link has been debunked. He recited everything every other TV doctor and major media anchor has done the last two weeks. You know the prepared "talking points". But towards the end of the segment he said one thing that really made me mad. He was explaining with a graph, seems like everyone has one saying something different, that the rates of Autism have actually slowed and that "So one could make the argument that vaccines have been protective against autism.." And that is where I decided to call him a puppet. Because I believe that talking point was given to him. When I tweeted him I said that he said that vaccines protect against Autism, he replied that he did not. And he is right I paraphrased him, so I replied back with his exact quote and a video clip of him saying it. He did not say that they protect against it, he said that "one could make the argument". Now there is a slight difference, but I still think it was a very irresponsible thing to say. By him even saying it, he is instantly giving that idea credibility, that it is a viable theory, or a rational train of thought. Especially with him being a TV doctor, an expert, when people here him say that its gives that idea validity. I would like him to say that exact quote to a mother who once had a perfectly healthy, alert and talkative toddler until the day they walked in to a doctor's office for an MMR. Wait am I saying vaccines cause Autism? It has been proven it doesn't right? Well there has been a lot of information hidden from you which it looks like some might come out in court with the CDC Whistleblower. But it is very hard to prove causation with Autism and vaccines, because many kids don't get Autism after they get their shots. Do I think that the overload of vaccines to certain vulnerable children can result in brain disorders? Absolutely. Back to Sanjay, I really have to thank him. Because the front page of his CNN website always has his last tweet nice and big right in front. And for several hours my name was right on his homepage. Thanks Sanjay! Here is the clip, the quote is at the end. I admit the last couple of weeks I have been obsessed. I have almost completely dedicated my blog and my social media posts to measles and vaccines. That is actually why I have taken somewhat of a break from blogging. It has cost me some followers, but I have gained some new ones. I have thought really hard about keeping my mouth shut like I have mentioned in previous blogs, but I can not stand the misinformation and the fear mongering going on. But if in that effort I have bored you, I apologize. I just can't sit back and watch.
But today I will shift gears. I want to talk about one of least favorite things, actually probably my least or you can call it a pet peeve of mine. Inconvenience. I can not stand inconvenience, I literally despise it. For example, I have always hated the inconvenience of pumping gas, and Im not even talking about the money, I hated the actual act of stopping at a gas station and getting out of my car to pump gas. What an inconvenience. So I bought an electric car, problem solved. No longer an inconvenience I have to deal with. When I designed my practice Adjust Dallas, I had the same thing in mind, I wanted the most efficient Chiropractic and wellness clinic possible. So it wasn't an inconvenience for anyone. I put in self check in computers with finger print scanners so you don't even have to stop at the front desk. I created hours catered to corporate schedules with hours during lunch breaks and early mornings. I allowed flexibility where people could drop in unannounced an be able to start therapies on their own. I promoted email scheduling and communication with me through email and skype. I tried to eliminate as much inconvenience associated with going to a chiropractor. This is actually something I get complimented on a lot and I am very proud of, "It's so easy!". I have also noticed a trend among people, if it's not convenient you will drift away from it and eventually fall off. That is why healthy habits should be implemented as conveniently as possible. Now I know what you are thinking, real results requires hard work. Well, I actually don't believe that. I don't believe in the whole "work harder" philosophy. I know a lot of people who have worked really hard and have no results to show for it. At the same time I know some people that get results with ease. I believe in working smarter not harder. Which is very convenient. Think you need to spend two hours a day at a gym to get results, try 12 minutes in your living room, that's the workout i give my patients. Think you need to count calories and barely eat anything to lose weight? Umm no. What we try to do at Adjust Dallas is make small lifestyle changes over time that add up, and eventually you are living a wellness type lifestyle without even thinking about it. But why worry about my health at all? My drive thru hamburger is very convenient at the moment. You need to redirect your lifestyle in order to avoid the ultimate inconvenience of poor health. And dealing with the inconvenience of poor health once it is already present does't work. What kind of inconveniences does poor health bring? Well we can start small, like missed work days. Or we could finish strong with being in a jazzy scooter for your retirement. Wait their is even one further, that is when your health becomes the inconvenience of someone else. Don't worry this is not a politically charged post, I try to avoid those. Even when I had my talk radio show on KLIF 570 here in Dallas I would avoid sharing too many political views. But on the same note I have never made it a secret that I have been a long time fan of Ron Paul and more recently his son Rand. Why? Let's just say I think he is one of the only politicians who refused to be "bought". With that said I was very excited when I saw an interview with Rand Paul yesterday saying that vaccines should be a parental choice. His exact words, "I think the parent should have some input. The state doesn't own our children. Parents own the children." And later on in the interview "...it ought to be voluntary". But then he even took it a step further, which I would have not expected someone who is considering a presidential run in 2016, "I've heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines," You can read the and watch the interview here. Let me remind you that Rand Paul is a doctor, and so is his father Ron. Wow, a doctor willing to admit that vaccine reactions are real. If you have been keeping up with my blogs or posts you already know that I found this refreshing because I have been predicting that our rights in regards to vaccines are about to be taken away. And that is why there is such a media attack and blitz on the topic this year, they are "posturing up".
These measles outbreaks aren't new, just look at an episode of The Doctors in 2008 when there was a larger outbreak of measles than the current one. You can watch the segment here. All the doctors agreed that it is a personal right to opt out of vaccines. Why not all the outrage in 2008? Larger outbreak. Maybe the agenda was't quite set yet. Well anyway back to Rand, today he has been popular news. Being attacked by the media (And their corporate sponsors) for telling the truth. It goes against the agenda, doesn't help their plan. Time magazine ran a piece calling him cranky, you can see it here. There has been other other headlines like "Rand Paul dead wrong on Vaccines" or "Rand Paul says Alarming things about Vaccines." And they are painting him like a quack. It is unbelievable, they are even going so far as to say vaccines do not cause any damage. When the MMR vaccine insert lists "brain inflammation" as one of the potential side effects. Not to mention the thousands of parents of vaccine injured kids. Or the fact that last year, 2014, the US Department of Health and Human Services, through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, paid out $80,310,705.54 to victims and families of victims of vaccine injuries or deaths. Or that Dr. Poland who is the leader of the Mayo Clinic Vaccine Research Team says, "The genetic predisposition of others makes them susceptible to harm from the measles vaccine." Let's ignore all that or the countless research that vaccines can cause harm. Rand is just a quack and he is definitely not going to ever become president with those views. Very bad for business. Oh Where Oh Where Oh Where is Ebola? Oh Where Oh Where Oh Where is Ebola? Oh Where Oh Where Oh Where is Ebola? Where Could Ebola be? My three year old daughter's favorite game is by far hide and go seek, she could play it for hours. We say that phrase while searching for whoever's hiding, obviously with their name inserted, and when she's the one hiding she can not contain herself from laughing and giving herself away. She's also a very good hider, if it wasn't for the laughing part, and apparently so is Ebola. Or at least the media coverage of it is. Where did it go? It was here for a minute and now gone. So Ebola must be eradicated then right? Wrong.
The media made mass hysteria is gone but Ebola is still here, still in Africa, patients in treatment inside the United States still getting released. So why no more coverage? Because their mission was already accomplished. While you were scared to death of the disease that only infected 2 hospital workers on US soil you were unaware that there was an agenda being unfolded. The fast track of experimental vaccines. In the wake of the Ebola scare vaccines were allowed to bypass many regulations and testing that normally is required. Now that the vaccines are released and the clinical trials are being performed on real life people in Africa we don't hear about it anymore. They don't need us scared anymore. When in fact there was nothing to be scared about in the US anyway. Why do you think so many people in Africa are refusing the vaccines, and saying that the only people getting sick are getting vaccines? This has even led to attacks on Red Cross and Unicef workers. I wrote a previous blog on it that you can find in the archives titled "What the Heck is Going On in Africa?". But the media paints it as ignorant uneducated people that don't know what's good for them. Or maybe, just maybe, they do. They even say that Ebola keeps spreading due to lack of cooperation from locals. Lack of cooperation with what? Again read my previously blog for past incidences of sterilization by Unicef. But now the same thing in happening with measles. You know, the childhood disease that all of our grandparents and if your old enough some of your parents had. The childhood disease that is defined by the CDC as a rash and a fever over 101 degrees. The same disease that has killed ZERO Americans in the last 15 years. Think there hasn't been any outbreaks during that time because of the God-send of vaccines? You would be wrong. But now that the mainstream media has all of us in a hysteria, scared enough to talk about throwing antivaxxers in jail, not allow them to reproduce, or get their kids taken away by CPS (Yes, people are absolutely NUTS) we are about to give away our rights. It reminds me of a quote; “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin They have scared us enough that we are about to give away one of our freedoms. And then the Measles will go away, even though there will still be outbreaks because the MMR is a failure and in that same 15 years where Measles has killed no one, the MMR vaccine has killed over 60 people and well over 1,000 serious injuries. But the hype will disappear. As another objective by Big Pharma has been accomplished. So don't let the Media scare you, don't fall for their scare tactics, their fear mongering, look in to the facts and not just something from the CDC that gives world statistics that include 3rd world countries. Dig deep, dig up the fraud and the lies. Don't fall in to the herd or one of the "sheeple". That may require killing your TV if you lack self control. :) |
